OFF THE BEATEN TRACK

To be able to see the best of Puerto Vallarta you will need the best of transportation. An air conditioned Suburban Van will take you to explore the highlights of Puerto Vallarta.

The first stop is Marina Vallarta, located at the north end of town and the home of nearly 400 world- class private yachts. These amazing yachts are a sight not often to be seen.

Extravagant yachts in a small harbor gives it the special charm only to be found here at the Marina Vallarta. At the center of the Marina is the landmark El Faro, a 110-foot high lighthouse, this is definitely one of the best spots in Puerto Vallarta to take beautiful pictures of the private yacht club.

After this we will go directly to the heart of Puerto Vallarta, the Malecón, the main street were everything happens. We will pass the city hall and enter the most famous cathedral of Puerto Vallarta, The Lady of Guadalupe Church.

Then we will drive into a neighborhood called Gringo Gulch area. This area is famous for it’s white bright red-tile roofs that cling to the mountainside, and for the bougainvillea that spills from every window and balcony, adding even more charm to this very colorful community. The Gringo Gulch area is even more famous here in Puerto Vallarta for the home that Richard Burton bought in 1963 for Elizabeth Taylor when he was filming the movie The Night of the Iguana. After the pair got married they purchased the house directly across the street and joined the two homes by a pink bridge.

You will have a guided tour inside the “Casa Kimberly” with an informative and friendly guide that will show you all the original furniture, movie posters, mementos and photographs from the 60s of this beautiful hideaway.

After been to “Casa Kimberly” we will drive by famous Conchas Chinas residential area and take a quick photo stop at El Mirador. Conchas Chinas is a very beautiful and exclusive area for the rich and famous. We will drive to a very scenic restaurant overlooking the bay where you will have a complimentary drink. After we will drive to Cuale river Island. Where several tourist shops and fine dining establishments can be found nestled among the trees. A terrific place to explore! We will now head into Vallarta’s main shopping area where you will have free time to shop. However those passengers wishing to stay in town may do so, and make their own way back to the ship.
